DAE error -4 was encountered

Hello,

PT won't start this morning. It "Initializing Hardware..." then throws "DAE error -4 was encountered"

On side note DigiTest also crashes when I run the test against my core card. May be unrelated if there's something wrong overall.

Has any one seen this ?

Problem solved. Don't know how/why. I unplugged everything re-plug everything in. Shutdown for 30mins. Started the Interface first, then the computer. That's it.

Sorry for being so trigger happy - but I have a bit of a deadline to meet. I'd be interested to know what happened here tough.

I had the same exact problem last year. I fixed it by removing the cards and reinstalled them. I don't know which machine you are running PT on, but the PCIe plug is shorten and less physically stable than the previous one that was long enough for maintaining the cards more stable. BTW there are other reasons that could cause this error, like faulty DSPs.

Power cycling the computer and the interfaces fixes this 99% of the time.
