Default Pro Tools 9 SSL Nucleus

Hi There:

New Setup on an IMAC OSX I5 processor, PT9+SSL Nucleus.

Recording Delay:

Was significantly behind time when recording to a click track and listening back so I took myself out of the loop and recorded my headphone output of the click track into a new track and measured a full 24 millisecond delay between the source track and the recorded track. Tried everything, samples, rate, delay comp, ht delay...nothing changes.

Did the same thing in LOGIC and was able to compensate for it by adjusting the recording delay. My tracks line up visually, sound much more better timing wise.

1. Does it mean that I have to drag my tracks back by 24ms in PT9 with this setup, ever experienced this in other setups?, better way to compensate?

Touch Sensitive Faders:

Does anyone know how to select the track in PT9 just by touching the SSL fader...

You're using the audio interface on the Nucleus, correct? What are your buffers set at?

Hi Brad,

thank you so much for your inquiry, I've been at this situation for a long time trying to figure this out. Yes I"m using the Nucleus Audio Interface, I've updated all drivers, even just bought Protools 10. I did notice that I was able to go to a 32 bit sample rate whereas on PT9 I could only go down to 64bit. But no matter the sample rate, i still get the exact same delay.

Nothing but the headphone wire back into the input channel...10 feet long.

I'm not referring to sample rate----I'm referring to your sample buffers. The higher the buffers, the more the latency.....the lower they are, the less latency, but too low and you could have other issues. What are those set to?

I had the wrong terminology, sorry.

No matter what I set the HW Buffer Size I have tried every size,( it is set at 64 samples). The IO insert Delay recognizes my Neucleus soundcard and has four variables to insert the delay in milliseconds, no matter what values I set there it is still the same. Also with or without delay compensation or low latency monitoring...i have tried every combination of these settings. Still getting a 24 millisecond delay. The sound sample at my source track starts at .286 and the same sound sample on the destination track starts at .310.
