Default No External Video

Hey Folks,

I thought this worked at some point but maybe I dreamed it. I have a DNxIO and I cannot get video to my external monitor via HDMI as I do in Media Composer and Resolve. I have tried the latest BMD Desktop Video and the approved Avid one.

Is it not supposed to work?

I am talking video out not a second computer display.

Thanks,
Robert

Assuming you have the right driver, check the codec you're using. My memory of Blackmagic products is that they are very picky about codecs. Try something really standard like 720p DNxHD.

It's 720p/23.98 DNxHD shared with Media Composer. I have MC, Pro Tools, FCPX, Resolve Studio, Squeeze Pro, and CS6 Production on this machine along with some others so codecs should not be an issue theoretically.

I have tried at least two drivers, the latest BMD one and the Avid approved one.

This is really annoying since I want to work on the progressive audio drift of this video.

Thanks for the thought,
Robert

Will the file display on the external monitor if it is played out from your Resolve Studio timeline? FWIW here I have two older, high end Sony TV's that wont display certain progressive formats. Later models of those monitors have no issues with the same clips and IO hardware setup.

Make sure "Options -> Enable Video Hardware" is selected? That will tell you if PT recognizes it.

Are any of your video programs running that could be hogging access to the DNxIO?

What version of PT, MacOS, BM Desktop, etc..?
