Here is a good overall video for understanding your system for Hardware .

If you are using Kontakt, make sure you turn off the processor management in Kontakt ( on settings - I can't remember the wording) but it clashes if you have two programs trying to manage the cpu load. I think it's Settings. It might be the "Use Memory Server" Just uncheck it if it's checked. Not sure if it matters on the latest versions.

Fro the 6101 error: Watch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfJ12UGJbkw

OR Change your Playback Engine if you need to, to alternate Interface other than Aggregate.. Not sure what system you are on.

Error 9128
Indicates that the hardware is not available. Could happen if you launch Pro Tools, then a Digital Audio Sequencer that's set up to use DAE. Try launching the Sequencer first, set it to MIDI Only, then launch Pro Tools.

How many processors are you running with Protools. Always go with ONE less that what you have for Mac to run with that and the rest for PT.

Hope this helps.. Also did you trash your prefs and volumes and restart your mac. Repair Permissions with Disk Utility. Then Launch Protools.

Good Luck, g

The other day bopping around on a 32 track session with lots of instrument tracks feeding instances of Kontakt 5 on each instrument track and 1 track with Battery 3 I got a couple of these errors. Rebooted and everything cleared up nicely and I could not repeat the errors.

My system is in my sig file so I have a little more capability then you do. Running 6 processors at 95% with 1024 buffers for mixing, regular PT10 with the 11 Rack as my audio interface (which is USB). Something I did to spread the load for my external drives is to have my PT sessions drive hung on the FW800 connection and my samples drive hung off one of the Thunderbolt ports via the TB to FW800 adapter. You might want to try that versus daisy chaining the RME and the LaCie drive.

Speaking of LaCie drives - they generally don't get good reviews here for use with PT. I have one on a Mac Mini system and it has the unfortunate habit of going into power down/sleep mode even though I have sleep mode disabled on the Mini. Don't know if LaCie fixed that on the Quadras - you might want to check into that. You do have sleep mode disabled on your iMac right?

Thanks guys, Happy New year!!!

I have seen many videos and I can not solve my problem.
I do not use MIDI, only use .wav files in final mixes, at approximately 32 tracks.
I do not use Kontakt.
Only use Avid instrument v.10.3

I removed preferences, I repaired disk permissions ... nothing.

The strange thing is that in the previous system (Lion 10.7), did not have these problems.
Everything worked perfectly.
That's in the past.

(Sorry my English is very bad)

Happy New Year to you as well!
Understood - no MIDI/vi's. Just throwing that out there in case you were using them. Still you might want to try what I mentioned about splitting off the RME and hard drive (due to bandwidth restrictions), as well as checking if that LaCie drive is going in to sleep mode or not which it might do even if you have your Mac or drives set to not sleep.

And another thing you might want to try is different firewire cables - you might have faulty cables.

A thought just came to mind - are your plugins up to date, especially if you're running any third party plugs. PT can be very picky with out of date plugs. Do you have the latest drivers for your RME? Also try swapping the position of the RME and the drive.

This is why I clone my HD before I update to a NEW OS. I would recommend doing that so you can always go back. Are you on 10.8.2? I have one system running 10.8.2 and 10.3.2 and it works fine and the other is on OS 10.7.5 with no problems either. Good Luck, G

Exclamation Re: Several 9128 and 6101 errors

It is true in Lion 10.7.5 did not have these problems.
I updated my system without backup and now appear errors.
All problems appeared with Mountain lion 10.8

Will you at least try the things I gave you to try and see if that helps at all? They might just work and solve your problem.

Exclamation Re: Several 9128 and 6101 errors

I tried everything I suggested and still problems.
All my plugins are original and last update.
Are few.

RME fireface, PT 10 and Mountain lion, do not get along.
I have the latest drivers, I tried changing my connection chain and nothing.

I'll try to connect the interface with the thunderbolt to firewire 800 adapter.

May increase my bandwidth????

You cannot increase the bandwidth of a port beyond what is already on the machine. When you get things that are trying to share bandwidth that may cause problems - that could be what's happening to you. Just because you can hookup multiple firewire devices to a chain doesn't mean each device gets the full bandwidth. Both devices will get FW800 speeds but the data path is only so much. You can split things up like I mentioned - feed one firewire device off the FW800 port, get the Thunderbolt to firewire adapter and feed your other firewire device off the other.

You say you tried everything you suggested - what I asked was did you try everything I suggested?
