Syncing external drum machine to PT. Only works from 1st bar.

I´m syncing my Jomox Alpha Base to PTs Midi Beat Clock via USB Midi. Works fine when I start playback from the beginning of the session. It wont work from any other bar than the very first though. I can see tempo info being received by the Alpha Base. The start signal is apparently missing though.

Ableton offers a "pattern" mode for syncing external gear.

MIDI Clock Type
The MIDI Clock Type "Song" is used to transmit the Song Position Pointer information together with the MIDI Clock, which is useful when syncing another DAW to Live. If the synced device is a drum machine or groove box that plays looped patterns, "Pattern" type is recommended instead.

Is there a similar option available in PT 12.4? What am I missing here?

In Synchronization preferences there is an option to generate MTC. Try that.

Ah, should have mentioned. Tried that already. Does not work. The Alpha Base does not read MTC.
