A whole new release should be dedicated to bug-fixes. No new features. Just make sure EVERYTHING works as expected. All the broken stuff. All the things that have not worked properly in PT for the past 10 years. Then we can move on to new features. Or at the very least, all of the above while introducing new stuff.

agree 1000% - all I need is stability and we`re pretty close with 2020.5 already!

Just downloaded and installed Protools 2020.9 on MacOSX 10.15.6 Catalina. Loaded up a few sessions to test and it seems to be running fine so far.

Edit: I am seeing the new PT Vanilla bug that counts stereo tracks as 2 voices rather than one. At 44.1 and 48.0 KHz, the total voices are maxed out at 128, hence only 64 stereo tracks. I believe at 88.2 and 96.0 KHz, that results at only 32 stereo tracks. This issue has been reported by a moderator to Avid. Let"s hope it gets fixed promptly. See here: http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=411759

Amen. They STILL haven't fixed the MIDI event list issues/bugs which Avid tech support has verified that they exist. So it's still PT 2019.6 for me. Fancy MIDI stuff I don't need - as above just fixed the damned bugs

The MIDI event list is fixed on my end. I downloaded 2020.9 today and it is all back to normal. No greyed out tracks like with 2020.5 (if that is the bug you are talking about).

Hopefully this won't jinx it but it's smooth here so far. One crash importing session data from an old session but that's probably not PT's fault. It feels just slightly snappier than 2020.3 did.

That's just one bug that looks like it got fixed. There's an Avid-verified bug about MIDI event list deletions. Remember that this goes back to every version after 2019.6. You can't make non-contiguous selections and deletions; you also can't just hit the delete key to delete events. And in the last couple PT revisions you can't make multiple contiguous deletions. I know what the manual says about deletions and it just doesn't work like described. Again all verified by Avid tech support and STILL not fixed.

Keep in mind this is on a Mac.
