Default Dynamic Plugin Processing ... Waves ?

Is it possible that DPP only works for stock AVID plug ins ?

I ´m testing PT 12 HD Native at the moment,
and it seems that f.x. Waves doesn´t work with DPP

Same CPU load in Play+ Stop !! ??

That's a weird beast for me too and I found I can't rely on it.

VI's have never been working with dynamic plugin processing and that's the nature of it. Also you will find that every plugin that not only processes but create some kind of sound will also never stop working as some wave plugins do, I think plugins like tape simulator, SSL Console and other plugins that create noise and some harmonics all the time (even if its there no sound), they will keep on releasing that noise etc because they are intended to do so.

I found too that sometimes dynamic plugin got a strange behavior and restarting it by deactivating and activating it again works to make it run better.

My 2 cents.

Have you also considered that if your audio track has silence within a clip, a plugin must not stop processing? IOW, DPP only works when you have a cut between your clips...

I believe Waves plugins do not support DDP. I would recommend contacting waves support and stating your desire for that functionality.

As stated, some waves plugins generate noise. So they will continue to function even when there is no clip on the track at the current played position. If DPP was enabled, you would essentially have an unwanted noise gate.

They definitely should function properly with DPP when the noise is turned off. Not that they do, but they should.
