been having the same problem for almost a year, but AVID seems not to care. Never had this with TDM. Maybe they should allow the computer to run the mix window instead of the HDX card, so the card can focus on plugins

Running the mixer on the card is what makes the latency low.

The way to get something fixed is accumulation of support cases. If no one reports it, Avid assumes it doesn't matter enough to get top-of-the-list attention.
I have been working with AVID on this problem for several months and on several support cases while also showing them people on blogs who are having the same problem, but they seem to be ignoring it or not caring. This sporadic problem should not be happening on this level. i should not have to turn this off then back on, restart the computer etc... AVID just needs to fix it. Was not a problem with TDM.

As a former TDM user, having recently upgraded to HDX, I am shocked that AAX native plugs cannot be used in record mode... (except for instrument channels) For example Waves PS-22 mono-stereo plug, will only work on playback, not for monitoring in record. (PS-22 previously utilized the TDM Accel cards for recording and playback) Most plugs cannot access the HDX hardware, except for the stock Avid plugs. Although I love the new features of PT12, the MIDI latency issue, ADC issues, etc., and lack of bona fide AAX plugs is paltry.

Compared to the TDM Waves lineup it can be viewed as lacking...but there are very good developers that are supporting AAX-DSP and most of the standard bases are covered, not everything but most is covered.

Plugin Alliance
SONNOX
MC DSP
FLUX
AUDIO EASE
SOFT TUBE

Focusrite d2/d3 is still available iirc and crane song has Pheonix
