OT: 2nd internal CD/DVD drive
This was briefly discussed in another thread - but I was wondering how those of you who have installed a 2nd dvd drive under the original one on the G4 have done it.
I have pulled out the chassis that houses the CD drive and zip drive (if you have one), but can see no way of fitting two CD drives in the compartment, as the mac's internal frame would get in to way of the bottom drive opening.....no I can post pictures if you don't understand. cheers, otto

Re: OT: 2nd internal CD/DVD drive
remove the frame where the second drive goes, it' s held in by one screw in the back.
You need a larger (5.25") frame to house the CD drive. Hope this is helpful. |

Re: OT: 2nd internal CD/DVD drive
hmmmm....
I hope i'm not being too dense on this, but there still doesn't seem to be a way of having the bottom drive opening. The protruding parts of the frame which prevent it are illustrated in this pic. my cd bay cheers, otto
