Default Digital Time Piece with protools Version 5.1

We are having a Motu , Digital Time Piece
and we are using a console
Yamaha O2R.

Can we use the Digital Time Piece as a MIDI Interface that can run in Protools version 5.10.

Can anyone of guide me at the earliest

digital time piece was made for time code/midi sync. You're better off with a midi time piece. It will handle program changes and other midi jobs better.
