Popping sound every time audio playback is stopped

Just as the title says, getting a click/pop sound every time I stop playback. Anybody else experiencing this?

Hi,

Open the session holding down the shift key! this will deactivate all plugins, now see if there's a pop.

If not then try reactivating the plugins one at a time till you find the cause.

Yep, on some sessions it is a pest. Don't know what causes it. Digital spike every time you hit the playback button to stop. This is on HD3 PT10 HD Mac Pro, Apogee Rosetta, 2 192 digital, 1 96I/Oi and big ben. Had it on previous version of PT too.

Same issue, even without any plugins. Rosetta 800 here, seems to be the common variable.

Yea it is happening to me without any plugins open. It happened on Pro Tools 9 all of the time but I assumed it had something to do with it being a beta application.

All plugs disabled.
It's like static build-up in my dryer.
I wonder if Bounce could make a plug-in.

I'm inclined to think this is an Apogee driver issue

for giggles take a DMM and look for some DC offset on the line outs

I think it has to do with how pt does an auto fade when playback is stopped



If I'm playing back a track and hit a memory location for the start of the song. Where there isn't any sound or (ie before any clips start) it pops. if I move to an open space (no clips Blank space) and hit the same the same memory location then no pop

So I think if the playback buffers have audio running through and playback is stopped or moved then pt isn't doing an auto fade or mute and the buffers pop

I'm using an RME UFX. Not an Apogee and I am getting popping when I stop the playhead.
Same behaviour when using protools aggregate.
