Default D-Command Talkback noise

I have a D-Command (8 years old) with a massive noise problem on the talkback. It helps slightly to use an external mic, but the noise is still very loud.
I´ve had the issue for several years but have never found a solution.

After a recent session where we ended up virtually shouting into the external mic in order to communicate with the poor artist, who felt like an astronaut lost in a sea of white noise and being yelled at by very angry men at a very low volume, I figured I should try to fix this permanently.
A little search on the web tells me I´m not the only one with this issue.
Does anybody have a solution for this?

I've done this in a few rooms as well and it definitely sorts out the angry yelling.

Thanks a lot, I see how this could be the culprit!

However, since I´m getting almost the same amount of noise with an external mic, which is on one of the DB25 balanced lines, could this mean the problem lies elsewhere?

I´m going to try the fix anyway. It would be lovely to have the internal TB up and running again.

Southsidemusic, I´m based in Sweden (and Norway), like you. Do you have a level transformer you would recommend?

Thanks again guys!
