Default In need of an older fast track..

So.. I bought PT 8 M-Powered a few years ago, but never opened it.. Upon opening it recently, I discovered that the only interface that's available is an older version of the Fast Track.. which Avid doesn't create and I can't find it anywhere. I feel like I'm pretty much screwed since Avid has made PT 8 M-Powered obsolete..

Would anyone have a site they recommend or advice? I'm tight on cash right now, but I need to start mixing/editing ASAP

Thanks,

Ander Von

There's quite a big list of devices that are compatible with PT8 M-Powered: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...149?popup=true however, most of them are older and no longer produced. The only one on the list that I know is still current it the ProFire 2626 (I have one and am quite happy with it), however driver development for newer OS's is pretty much non-existent (at least for Mac).

If you can find one of those used or new at a reasonable price, they are quite nice.

The other option is upgrading to a newer version of Pro Tools, anything v9+ (but not Pro Tools 9 M-Powered) will work with any manufacturer.

Awesome, thanks Joel. When I spoke to an Avid rep, they told me the only interface compatible to my version was a Fast Track..
