RESOLVED: Eleven Rack Digital Input (S/PDIF)
With a Pro Tools session open, Eleven Rack plays back a Rotel RCD-02 CD Module configured via S/PDIF. Eleven Rack plays back via Main Output (XLR). Can this playback be routed via stereo Output to Amp? That is instead of Main Output.

Re: Eleven Rack Digital Input (S/PDIF)
What exactly are you tryign to achieve?
You can select S/PDIF as the Rig Input and then specify the amp outputs to be from locations in the signal chain like usual. The Rig Input pulldown in the upper left corner of the Eleven Rack control panel in Pro Tools. There can be one Rig Input at a time so you can't play guitar into the Eleven Rack while doing this. What you are doing with this is reamping that signal from the CD player.--which may not be at all what you wanted. So you probably want to turn off any effects, amp and cab sims. Or put the amp output before the amp and cab sims in the chain and just turn off all effects. But again what is the big picture of what you are trying to do or achieve musically - not just what you are to connect to what. Are you trying to just listen to a CD over a guitar amp, or accompany/play along with the CD from a guitar connected to the Eleven Rack input? There may be other ways of doing things, e.g. using analog FX loop inputs or ripping the digital source into ProTools and mixing that back the the Eleven Rack (and using Main Outs). etc. Darryl |

Re: Eleven Rack Digital Input (S/PDIF)
Rig Input>Digital L+R enables Eleven Rack as a monitoring solution and without Pro Tools open. Thanks Darryl.

Re: Eleven Rack Digital Input (S/PDIF)
And of course I misspoke slightly, I forgot you could put the amp output(s) at the head of the chain so you can in principle then leave any of the the effects sims in whatever state and it won't matter.
Play with that Amp output level on the rig for best sound, if you are going to a guitar amp you will want to turn it down from the default (and the CD is still likely to sound crappy vs. a full range monitor). If you have full range monitors its much more flexible to just plug them into the main out L/R. Darryl |
