Control Monitor Section STILL Intermittent!
Took it all apart. Sprayed TB3, TB4, TB2, blah blah blah...
with Dexoit. Re-set chips, wiggled connectors. Everything is tight & where it should be, but still audio just cuts out when it feels like it. Namely the Left side! I even tried anotherD-Sub cable with the same results. I've resorted to theALT monitor outputs for the past year. This was happeningeven before I changed the power supply a few months ago? It is in a stand and gets virtually no vibration... BTW, the Cub board is not cracked and is functioning properly. I'm at my wits end with this problem. I really would like to be able to use the monitor section for what it was intended. Any suggestions? Adrian |

Re: Control Monitor Section STILL Intermittent!
Adrian, I don't have the same problem with my C|24 monitoring section as you do -- I occasionally & get a very loud static "POP!". Digi support told me to deox some connectors, etc. but that hasn't helped. I'm now looking at bypassing/replacing the monitoring section with a Central Station or something from Dangerous Music. I've heard that Dangerous monitoring systems are more transparent than C|24 so that might be an improvement anyway. Maybe a nice XMas present for myself...

Re: Control Monitor Section STILL Intermittent!
I know this is an old thread. but I'm a hopelessly intermittent poster...
Just wondering if this problem was satisfactorily resolved. I have had the same prob. with my Control 24 almost all its life. I've had a couple of psu replacements, but all to little avail. Oh and I still get occasional freaking out faders, leds and scribble strip flickering/dimming. But the left speaker thing is happens a number of times nearly every day... While I'm whingeing, I may as well add that my rubber's all sticky and one of my solo switches is dead now too. Waaaaaa! This is a pretty early unit and I am the original owner if that helps anything. I love you digi :) but definitely seeking help on this. Cheers, Hammers. |

Re: Control Monitor Section STILL Intermittent!
The monitor issue is likely ribbon connections on the monitor board. The power connections alone would not cause that issue.
(Assuming it is not in a knob. I notice also on mine that occasional issues are easily resolved by cycling the alt button) Try cleaning and re seating the ribbons. If it persists, it could be a bad component on the monitor board. I went through a big issue with this recently, and I now have a NEW monitor board in mine. (Which has a constand barely audible his in the right channel.... both Mon and Alt.... might have to get a new one) The board will run you $450 flat out, or I think Digi will charge you only $150 if you return your old board. You'd have to call tech for varification.
