Default Reading Time Code Metadata from Quicktime Files

I am having trouble getting the time code info from imported Quicktime files.

Having tried may versions, just can't seem to see it. For example I have a Pro Res Proxy with embedded timecode (open in QT Pro and the TC track is clearly there).

I would have thought that dragging the .mov onto the video track I could then spot the clip to the correct timecode using the embedded metadata. But, alas, according to Pro Tools there is no time code metadata... Original Timestamp is blank. The audio tracks extracted from the .mov also have no metadata.

Am I missing an import stage? I am just dragging and dropping onto the edit window. I have tried this with a current session, also to a blank session. Same results.

Session setup matches the time code of the .mov (25fps).

I would have thought that, with Pro Tools having the Media Composer Engine this wouldn't be an issue.

I've attached pictures for reference

Any thoughts?

I'm running Pro Tools HD 11.0.2, on an 3770k i7 PC, Windows 7 64bit. Also tried this in Pro Tools 10 with the same results

Defiantly won't work in 10 or below
Will it work if you take it into a video editor?

Yes video editor sees the TC. What's odd is that if I open the .mov in QT pro the PRoxy has TC metadata on the video track, but the actual timecode track is blank. I'm guessing this is the issue. Prob need to find a way to edit the metadata of the TC track, copy it from the video track to the TC track.

For now I'm just opening the .mov in QT and checking the first frame of TC and spotting manually to this.
