Default digi002 frozen fader

Sometimes fader 3 on my digi002 freezes and will not allow any changes, unless I do it with the mouse in the Pro Tools software. Is there an easy fix for this?

I've seen a couple post on something like this. The solution is to get your 002 fixed by contacting customer service. It is not a simple software bug but a hardware failure.

I wonder if it's a paid fix or complimentary.. probably paid. I'll email customer service and check.

Thanks!

My no. 2 fader stopped moving last year, and I suspected a bad motor. I called Digi, and tech support had me run a few tests over the phone, confirming the motor was bad. Since it was still under warranty, they issued me an RMA to send it in and have it fixed for free. I didn't have to pay shipping since I live near the factory. I dropped it off, and it was ready to pickup the next day.

Your situation seems a bit different, as I could still move the fader on the 002, and the fader on the screen would respond accordingly (but not vice-versa).

Good luck.

I have the same problem. Sometimes nudging to the master fader will correct it. I contacted Digi a while ago and they said I needed a new fader board and since I'm well over my warranty date it would cost $410 to have it fixed. I'll deal with the wacky faders until the 004 comes out.

Darnit!
My Digi 002 fader 3 stopped responding today.
I can physically move it but it shows no change in Pro Tools.

I move my fader in Pro Tools and it shows no change on the Digi 002.

But I bought mine in 2003 and when I change the fader level in Pro Tools it still affects the volume level just fine, so I'll live with a dead fader until I buy a new interface.

Holy smokes!!! after performing the fader test indicated on the avid page, the fader came back to life!!! sweet!

Here's the link to troubleshooting motorized faders: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/compatibility/en210819?popup=true

I just thought of something! Just as an fyi in case you want to do this. I just put my 002 on a maintenance schedule.
Once a month I will run these tests to keep the motors and faders functional. Hope that helps
