Thumbs down Delay when previewing Audiosuite Plugins 002R

Hi guys,

I've noticed when i preview audiosuite plugins using my 002R that there is a long delay followed by a light sequence on the front of the unit, much similar to the light sequence when DAE loads at Pro Tools startup.

I'm guessing this is normal as i've always had it but it's annoying and puts me off using audiosuite. Does anybody else have this, is there a remedy and if not whats the unit doing that requires this light sequence?

It's not the power harness.....thankfully.

Thanks in advance

I get this too on my 003 console, and I am thinking it might have to do with their not supporting previews through external converters or something like that. Maybe external sync.

There is some odd hiccup going on with audiosuite preview, it's not your machine having a problem.

Perhaps Tech Support could chime in for an explanation.

I clock internally so i don't think it's an issue with that.

Do you monitor through external converters? What is the preview channel setting in the i/o dialog?

Something odd for sure. With certain plugins, preview is fine, with others, preview takes a "break".
On digi003. Always works, but this delay thing is there sometimes.

What's your audio suite buffer set to in prefs?

Options run through something like "Small" to "Jumbo" (I can't remember exactly off the top of my head) with one end of the spectrum giving you fast previews but slow actual rendering of the file, and the other end giving you slow previews but fast rendering.

Not sure about the lights flashing on the front of the unit, do you mean the firewire "link" light or sample rate lights?

The only time I've seen that behaviour, other than during PT launch, is symptomatic of the Power Harness starting to go kaput
