midi notes going in and out of tune?

for the past few days my midi is in and outof tune, it happens at random? sometimes its nearly as if im moving the mod wheel on the midi keyboard.

Can you see anything in the MIDI event list after recording? A friend of mine had a similar issue, and discovered that the pitch bend was the culprit.

I checked the midi event list and i do see pitch bend in there a few times. How do i fix the issue? This happens when im just playing with the track armed or just monitoring.

Well, he told me that the pitch bend on his Roland XP-80 started to act up, so he filtered it out from the MIDI recording.

If you go to Setup (menu) > MIDI > MIDI input filter, and turn pitch bend off - does that help?

That happens with the pitch bend on my M-audio keystation61, I have to check the pitch bend automation lane every time I use it. Apparently it's a mechanical problem

Yes...I had a keystation pro that cause the same behavior.
When i started to hear some things out of tune it was the pitch bend on some midi track randomly automated . So i had to reset it one by one on the pitch bend track view . Very annoying indeed !

The root cause is mechanical due to the spring or whatever is used to return the pitch bend wheel wears out and won't always properly return the wheel to dead center.

In mine is not exactly that, I had it fixed once before and the engineer said it was electrical. Anyways, no more m-audio for me.
