winXP: PTMP 8.01 to 8.04 showstopper assertion error
Assertion error showstopper, using WinXP:
Was looking to take advantage of 8.0.4's updates ...but just got through the showstopper assertion error issue: "*\ \BDM\BDM_Workspace.cpp". line 1473" This one won't even allow you to start and open PTMP 8.04. It just brings up this error, allowing you to OK or close it, then PTMP804 will hang there dead in the water (open taskmngr and end PTMP). System is tip-top, everything else working great. The error/problem is caused by this: an audio CD was in the CD/DVDr drive while launching PTMP 8.04 (this will apply if you have any audio cd in your drive). Digi. Avid. Guys... THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS, how do you not catch a reproducable bug like this? Responsible parties at digi/avid really should be ashamed. I hope this is already found and posted here somewhere (didn't see it upon searches though). |
