Supervising Sound Mixer. What is it?

I've seen the term "Supervising Sound Mixer" .
What does that mean exactly?
What does a Supervising soundmixer do?

That credit has been given when the client wants to give an extra attaboy (or attagurl) to the lead (dialog) mixer for a feature film. Perhaps the mixer is a big name and/or the client REALLY liked their work.

I have seen where it was a contract agreement when the show was booked.
