WaveRider Question / Probs
I can't get WaveRider to work on anything beyond channels 1-8. I use a C24 and a punchlight USB, wonder if that has to do with anything?
#1 is HUI punchlight #2 is Wave Rider ch.1-8 receive, ch. 1-8 send to #3 not used #4 not used So if I change Wave Rider to 9-16 and setup vocalrider on, for instance, channel 9 it doesn't do anything. I'm guessing it's because of my C24 that I can't access any other channel only channels 1-8. Also my automation seems to be like 1-2 frames late even though I adjusted H/W buffer size to 1024 and made sure I didn't have any plugins on that track. It's not operating like I see in the demo's...I'm doing something wrong here? |

Re: WaveRider Question / Probs
Nathan, I'll copy from our support page regarding C24:
Quote:
As for the 1-2 frame delay, do you have delay compensation on? Or do you have excessive delay in session somehow? |

Re: WaveRider Question / Probs
I do have delay compensation on, looks green. I deleted all my preferences n'stuff but still have the same prob. It's weird, it's like I always have to highlight all the automation and shift it to the left to get it to align up correctly.

It is weird. Did you try without the punchlight?

Re: WaveRider Question / Probs
Ah, I changed my HW/ Buffer settings to 1024 samples and my delay compensation turned red, had to remove a plug in a session and now it works properly.

I used Waverider for the first time yesterday and was very pleased with the results. I did all the right things -- set up in the Peripherals, put buffer to 1024, turned Delay Compensation on, nudged back 500ms after the pass -- but I had the automation set to touch/latch which is my normal way of working instead of latch. The resulting automation was incredible dense as it kept trying to return to its starting point at every frame. I set it to latch as the manual states and the results were much more normal looking.
In my Peripherals I have it set to positions 3 and 4 behind a Mackie control and a V-Control. I just make sure that the track I'm calling Channel One in Waverider is the first track with the purple outline. I also have to remember that I can no longer use the Bank buttons on the Mackie Control but have to use Channel instead. |

Re: WaveRider Question / Probs
Well, the HUI seems on my system to ONLY work with channels 1-8, not sure why when I switch to 9-16 (As specified on the website I can only use 1 bank selection with the C24) I can't switch to any other bank channels? Like I can't use 9-16 if I don't use any of the other banks? Maybe I misunderstood the manual on usage with the C24

Re: WaveRider Question / Probs
Nathan, HUI limitation on C24, Pro Control, and Icon series is that you can only use 1 bank of HUI along with these controllers. And that one bank in Wave Rider is ch1-8. Regardless of the track numbers in Pro Tools, whatever is loaded on your controllers faders 1-8 will be mirrored by the HUI.
So PT track 12 can be channel 1, if it's the first track on the C24. Eucon controllers don't have this limitation, which makes WR operate freely with all 4 banks. |

Re: WaveRider Question / Probs
Thanks for making that clear, I was guessing it was limited only to 1-8 as the only channels available with a C24. Just means you gotta be more creative about your session setups.
