Default Input Gain Adjusting

Hi there, does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the input gain on a channel within pro tools 8 le, without having to adjust the output from my eleven rack interface? Every demo I have seen always uses some form of hardware mixer within input gain knobs on it.
thanks

Input gain can only be adjusted external to the computer, so no.

Back to the OP, what are you trying to make happen? If you are concerned about a dry track being very low, don't be. That is the correct level and will work correctly for re-amping.

Re-amping is simply sending a guitar track out to an amp(real or amp-sim) to change the sound. Eleven rack allows you to record your processed guitar sound AND a dry(un-processed guitar signal) to another track so you can re-amp it later if you decide you want a different tone. Check it out in the manual and the online videos as its a very cool feature. You can do re-amping with most any system, but Eleven rack makes it really simple(as simple as this stuff gets...).

my issue is that I have a fairly low output from my microphone - it is phantom powered going into my eleven rack for recording into pro tools but signal is weak, I only get a decent signal when the gain knob is pretty much all the way up on the eleven rack. I there another output signal adjuster somewhere?

The only other place there would be in your set-up as described is on the mic.

What model is the mic? Does it have a pad switch (attenuator) and if it does is it on?

If it does and it is turn it off.

A:)
