Default Event menu>Extract Chords from Selection...

Hello,

In PTF, I make selection in an Instrument track and I choose Extract Chords from Selection form the Event menu. I see the progress bar and once the process is completer, nothing happen.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your help!

What do you expect to happen? The only thing I would expect to happen is have the chords transferred into the chords ruler, but I've never used this function so what do I know?

Most folks here don’t use Pro Tools First, and I realize the documentation for First sucks. But the documentation for Pro Tools standard/Ultimate is usually very good so here I would punt that this feature will be the same as other versions so grab the Pro Tools Reference Guide PDF online and read away.

And there are always handy tutorials you can find on places like You Tube, like this one. https://youtu.be/Tr-xBn7zW8c

DUC is not really a place to get basic tutorial help, Not when what you are after is available in documentation etc. If it’s not working as documented then explain more what is going on.

Hello and thanks for you reply.
It appears they removed the chord ruler in PTF but forgot to remove the menu item.

Hi! Thanks for your help. I found there's no mention of the chord ruler in the 2019.5 help file so they should at least remove the function in the software or put back the chord ruler in the next update.

I found too that they talk about the clip list on page 100 but it appears they remove this function too in PTF.

All this is misleading when you learn PTF but PTF is free so, that's ok by me.

Have a great day!
