Default How to import aiff Project files?

I've been given a job of mixing a Project that was recorded on an older Zoom Multi Track recorder.

I'm told they are AIFF Files.

I tried importing them without success.

Is there a way?

Thanks

I'm using,

PT10, MacBook Pro, Presonus 16.4.2, Glyph Xternal HD's

Create a new session and use the import audio feature.

Your problem might be that the aiff files can very well be 16bit which I think you need to convert to 24bit first, using itunes for example. Or create a 16bit session and try to import there.

That's probably it. I'll give it a try.

Thanks

I tried to import as 16 Bit. No go.

I looked up Zoom MRS1266 Manual. From what I can find it might be SMF Files? Does that sound right? If so how do you suggest I import them?

Thanks

SMFs are Standard MIDI Files, not audio.

It was recorded on a Zoom MRS1266. The project is dated 2001. I've looked thru the Online Manual but I'm not seeing what kind of Files? I read somebody's post somewhere they might be AIFF but 8 Bit?

I'm not seeing 8 Bit option in PT10?

Maybe it's not do-able?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Can you open/play the file in anything? Especially iTunes or QuickTime player?

What do they think the file format is? Or try doing a get info on the file from the finder if on a Mac. (I cannot recall what that actually tells you but I'll look when I am at my Mac).

I am not sure bit depth in the file is an issue. The CODEC might be... AIFF is just a container format, it does not specify the CODEC, but I hope this is just plain old PCM audio.

Still stuck share a file somewhere on a file sharing site and I can tell you exactly what the file format is and if it's corrupted etc.

I will try all the above.
