Yeah they also don't have the W7 driver I require either but I'm sure others would be interested in what's on offer, hate me.

You, like all of us, could have signed up to be a part of the LE Beta program... It really wasn't difficult to join.

I have Win 7 Pro (x64) installed on another hard drive that I am using to learn about Win 7. I have installed the 64 bit drivers for my Audiophile 192 and they work perfectly with Windows and the few apps I have tried them with - but that's a PCI card.

I have an 1814 around here somewhere and M-Audio does have the 64 bit drivers out for that. Maybe I will install the 1814 and try it out with PTMP. The 1814 is firewire so maybe we can get a clue in terms of progress on firewire drivers.

But,.....like everyone else, I want to see 64 bit drivers for my 002R so I can use it with LE.

I'll let you know how it goes with the 1814.

Oh, BTW, I have an original Tyan Quadzilla and it looks like XP Mode is not supported with the Opteron 265's. So nothing works in XP mode on this computer using Win 7. Processors and Bios have to support Virtual xxxxxx.

Hi Greg

Has the manufacturer released W7 Motherboard support yet? The ASUS K8N-DL Opteron 265 is currently not supported and is most unlikely too.

filosofem,

No, not that I know of and I wouldn't expect Tyan to do so. It's just getting a little too old (but I'll check).

I'm still getting very satisfactory PTLE 8.0.1 performance with this system and WinXP, but I'll probably build something new when Win7 x64 starts getting a little more support from software companies.

I looked through the MS Win7 compatibility listing and was pleasantly surprized at the number of hardware companies providing 64 bit drivers. The software companies on the other hand had very few entries. A lot of software is qualified to run on Win7, but almost all were 32 bit (x86) versions. So far, I've only tried to install one program that just wouldn't run as an x86 program and that was Norton Partition Magic 8. I'm guessing it would have run if my computer supported XP Mode.

Thanks,
Greg

Waiting for official qualifying is a smart way to tread Greg yes and an attitude I am also subscribing too personally. It's a process that we just need to have patience. Too preempt could be a costly exercise.
