Slate VMR causing Loading hangs?

Trying to track down what program is causing a bit of a hangup loading PTs Projects,. I found this. I started with a fresh install of all windows10, and my Hardware drivers. Then Pro-Tools, and the default plugins. In between each install, obvious, reboot, I tested PTs, opened a bunch of sessions, and saw how it was all working.

Next, I installed Gobbler, and got started installing my Slate plugs. All stayed the same,. obviously a bit more system usage on the projects w more plugs.

When I got to VMR(virtual Mix Rack), that is when I noticed a pretty big change. First,.. some projects would hang up,. when loading tracks,.. not a long hang, but 10-30 seconds sometimes,.. and after the project opened, CPU usage would jump to 100% briefly,. before it settled back in at normal 3-10% usage. The hang,.. and/or the 100% jump was not on every Project opened, but every couple i opened, all projects tested had plenty of VMRs initiated, and it was not the same Projects that did this every time,, it was more random. One time,.. loading a project, it hung up loading tracks, and PC locked up,.. nothing until I had to reset PC.

I uninstalled VMR,.. and the issues went away. All projects open just about instantly,.. no files hang on Loading tracks,.. and the CPU does not jump when files open. After that,. I installed a bunch more plugs,. and all is staying the same,.. "Perfect!!!" Fast,. and very low CPU usage!!!

That leads me to believe,.. VMR is causeing some type of issue. I am going to report my findings to Slate,.. but I was curious if anyone else had input on this?

I just saw your post. Contact support and they’ll send you the installer link for 1.9.3 or something like that. I just uninstalled 2.0, then installed the 1.9 and it was done. Didn’t have to deactivate any ilok crap or software codes. It just reappeared and seems to be working normally. I haven’t spent much time with it yet, but it’s ckearly acting normally, right off the bat. The guys on that FB. Site seem pretty obnoxious though. Good luck!

right on,. I will! Not sure if you picked caught this in other posts,. but I just did a new build w 8700k,.. and it is blowing my mind!!! coming from AMD 8730 4.0. I cannot wait to get to working again, is going to be so much faster workflow now!!!
