Default PT 5.1.1-- Please post your results, problems, bugs

I have had a somewhat smooth ride with 5.1 and am wondering if it is really necassary to upgrade to 5.1.1. I remember reading some negative stuff here when ppl first upgraded. Plugs not working, bugs, etc...

Any info would be great...

when opening 5.0 sessions with 5.1.1 certain random tracks will not play audio (even if you reallocate the voices)....... strange.

5.1.1 has been very smooth for me. There was some strangeness, however. The command-M muting of grouped tracks seems to be changed a little bit. For example, if the regions you wish to mute do not have the exact same start and end regions, it seems to only mute the top track. This makes sense, but it seemed to work differently in 5.1, as I remember. I do command-M alot, so I really noticed this, and it took some getting used to. Also, the ProControl "double message" bug was not completely fixed in 5.1.1.

Otherwise, it's been a smooth ride. I highly suggest it. (Oh, and the import duplicated tracks bug was completely fixed.)

Here's a weird one.....

Importing tracks from a 5.01 session into a 5.1.1 session has been a bit problematic...

If these 5.01 tracks have plug-in automation on them (not simply using the "settings"), they import into the 5.1.1 session and play back fine... BUT if you try to copy/paste or click/drag regions from the imported tracks to other tracks in the 5.1.1 session, the plug-in automation either is lost or becomes scrambled. We have verified this condition on several of our PT Mix rigs even with only the DigiRack Plug-ins installed.

Please do me a favor and verify this if you can. Digi please confirm this bug and work out a bug fix ASAP.

Thanx

Brad

-Does this occur with all PT 5.0 sessions? I have tried with a few sessions created in v5.0.1 and did not find any problems (I don't have any sessions that were last saved with PT 5.0).

-Use the File>Import Tracks command in PT 5.1.1 and try moving the tracks into a new 5.1 session file and see if all tracks can be voiced properly.

-Assuming I understand you correctly, I cannot reproduce this behavior. If I have a group in which the regions do not line up (start or end times), I make a selection and then press Command+M, only the region(s) in which their start _and_ end boundaries are contained within the selection are muted.
