Default PT-Rosetta800 setup

Hey guys,

Just got a Rosetta 800-192 to substitute a digi rack as the main A-to-D and I/O unit.

Problem:
We can't hear rec-input and playback at the same time. Any ideas?

Details:
When "source to digital out" in the Rosetta's front panel is set to "option", I can hear PT playback but no mic-input incoming signal.
When "source to digital out" is set to "analog" I can hear mic-input incoming signal, but no PT playback.

Note: we are using analog ins and digital outs
We have no other digi I/O in the system.. just the rosetta

Any help will be most appreciated.

Many thanks!

Adrián

System:

PT HD3 Accel
Rosetta 800
Mac Pro 3GHz X 2 Dual-Core Xeon

Default Re: PT-Rosetta800 setup

Hello

It's just about the same problem I had with a client of mine's system, which was AD16, DA16 and 2x Rosetta 800. All the interfaces were loaded with the X-HD expansion card, but for the life of me I wasn't able to figure out (and the manual is really useless and poorly written for such an expensive piece of gear...) how to make the Rosetta 800 work with digital I/O...I tried all of the possible combinations of the front panel buttons, but all I had with the supposedly right combination was a feedback loop... analog I/O worked fine though.

I'm sorry I couldn't help that much, but I just wanted to tell you that you're not the only one with this issue.

Thanks for the reply, Lorenzo.

As it happens, the Rosetta can't handle internal mirroring. So you MUST pair it with something else. I ended up getting a digi 192 digital I/O to pair it with and voilà, problem solved (of course after another considerable expense)... I do believe, however, that just getting an Apogee AD16-X would do the trick on its own... Anyway, so much for that.

Thanks again, and good luck with things on your end of the world.
