Saving re linked audio?
Hi, I opened a session and the drum tracks were greyed out, with the missing audio dialoge. I closed the session, plugged in my back up drive, and the session opened up correctly.
So, how do I import the audio from the back up session folder, back into the main session folder on my main audio drive? I did make a copy session with the audio copied, but I would also like to have those tracks back where I want them. Thanks everyone Tom |

You can use either the Import Audio option which will import clips only, or the Import Session Data option which can import tracks with options of what info to import from the original tracks. Check the reference manual for details though it's pretty self-explanatory.

Re: Saving re linked audio?
I like to use the save copy function making sure to have it copy all audio. This brings everything together in a new folder.

Re: Saving re linked audio?
Go to workspace.
Open up in the left-side the pro tools session and audio folder. Select audio folder. On right side, sort audio files by file path. Select all the ones that are in the wrong file path (on your backup drive) Right-click and select "Copy and Relink" That'll copy all those files to your main audio folder and relink them in your session. Then just save session.

Re: Saving re linked audio?
Great advice above. Here's one thing to check, and one more thing to add to your workflow; Open Preferences and make sure that you check the box for Always Copy On Import(or something like that). And, to really cover your ASSets, copy the files(outside of PT) directly into the session folder and import from there
