Default Older PT session EQ

I have an older PT session - 4.something - obviously the EQ is not compatible with 5+ - Need to re-mix - cannot get the old settings - any ideas? Do I have to re-install PT4 to look at settings? Will re-installing 4 screw up 5 settings? thanks!

JoeS,

In 5, the original 1 and 4 band EQ's were removed from the Digirack Plug in pack. Unfortunately, you cannot add them back into the plug in folder, as Version 5 does not support these).

Re-installing Version 4 could be problematic as the earlier version would not remove the 5.x PT components (PT, DAE, extensions, etc) and place them in an "obsolete Digidesign Folder". You may then have major conflicts.

If you wanted to take a chance, you should create a folder on the desktop and drag the Digidesign Folder, DAE Folder and all of the Digi Extensions and Control Panels into it. Trash all three Digi prefs in the Preference folder (Digi System Init, DAE Prefs and PT Prefs); Restart the computer and then re-install 4.x.

After you copy all of the setting from the original EQ, then you could drag all of the 4.x components into the trash. Trash all of the PT prefs again, then restart the computer. Then drag all of the 5.x components off of the desktop folder and place them where you found them. The restart the computer
Good Luck
