But alas such was not to be.
I agree, the MacOS version is way overpriced as is, but luckily for me I was able to get an education discount which cost $115 at Safe Harbor. The latest version seem to be a slightly better version from the original Sony released. For me, I mainly miss some of the ACID creation tools and CD Arch from the Windows version.

Your second statement is confusing me. Please explain.
USB does not *guarantee* uninterrupted stream. That is why FW400 is considered better/faster than USB2. Now we both know FW is deprecated already and USB3 is theoretically much faster than FW800 but still -- the difference regarding pro audio is FW guarantees the reliability of the stream whereas USB3 will not.

USB 4.0 spec changes that, but it is essentially TB anyway.

Off-topic, but since you asked

Something no one has mentioned is that with the HOFA program you get access to all their plugins and not just in the burning program but inside PT as well. At least I did when I tested it a few months back (not the beta but the original).
Correct.
It has been released then returned to open-beta.
Loading Plugin conflicts.

Thanks for the heads-up on that. This is one of those things that if/when I get some extra cash I'd go for as I like Hofa's plugins.

Doesn't iTunes or Finder do this? What's the advantage of these other programs?

We use a PLUGIN from HOFA (Germany) that works within ProTools. It is AMAZING!!!

Info at: https://hofa-plugins.de/en/plugins/c...432.1567737434

Multiple versions, either straight plugin or an app that uses processing plugins. It'll also save as DDP filesets that you can send to replicators. Make sure you scroll down to compare versions. Only ONE of them works as a plugin within ProTools (and many other DAWs). Mac or PC...

Sorry, I didn't read all the previous posts and see that HOFA had been mentioned. Prior to HOFA, we had been using SonicStudio soundBlade and I still have it on my personal system. We MUST do DDPs on a monthly basis, as well as 'plastic' masters for our in-house duplication systems. The HOFA plugin is so much easier and faster since we're already in ProTools, and track marks can follow all of the markers we place in ProTools. It has been a huge time saver for us.

I also use it to do DDPs and stuff for labels/replicators. It's also great when you need to open up a release, and shotgun 10 file formats to the powers that be (mp3s for this one, waves for that, AIFFS for these, 192s for those, 320s for that etc).

I also use HOFA. But I find it more clunky visually.

My biggest gripe with Studio One is you cannot say "burn 10"... you have to hit burn and wait each time. Sucks when I need to burn 10 for a client and can't just say to a helper "hey when it opens, stick another disc in".

Awesome answer.
Thank you so much.
I had kept myself apprised of the S1 issues through the forum and did not buy until I saw it was fixed.
I just haven't had the need to try it yet as:
A) I am not a pro
B) Most of the stuff I have been doing has just been exported to other platforms.

Thanks again for your answer.
