I will look into that and report back.

With absolutely no difference to mixing on 11 all day without any issues I suspect.

Oh... except the wallet is somewhat lighter.

Managing I/O configs bouncing sessions between work and home has been a PITA since PT10.

Also hoping for improvements in the way of presets for session data import beyond "All" or "None"... not holding my breath though.

Yes looks like it be a better experience in that regard (hopefully, fingers crossed)

Not as sexy as cloud and track freeze but def useful

Rock solid gold man, I would also like that -it's cool if your at 12 but I would also like attention to be paid to 11 also

Can I install over 11.3.1 or do I have to manually uninstall PT11 to upgrade to 12? Mac.

Just upgrade, worked fine on my system. Seams to be more stable than 11.31

Wow. That's pretty lame for a new numbered release. Considering PT11 is still a mess in a lot of ways.

Hi big brother!

Has not this been around for 2 decades. So AVID put it in a menu. BFD! (that isn't swearing mods).

OMG. Such an improvement than just clicking on the project file

-----Interjection here-----
Clearly, this is the tipping point for AVID. Opening a session is a feature? AVID is really making themselves look stupid.
-----done----

Every other DAW has had this for a decade or more.

I could go into every single "upgrade" AVID has made. Which in itself is a major joke.

Really AVID? Doesn't that exist in HD? Yes it does.

So is this a Vanilla update and you still CANNOT create and HD policy?

PT12 provides nothing of importance or need. It is an AVID "wag the dog" moment, nothing to see here, move along.

Martin Klobier would have made AVID a company to invest in and would have made it great.
Bob underwear stain, has no CLUE! (seriously mods, are you going to "ding" me for that?)

Bye, bye AVID. PT12 is improvments and cloud collab. LOL! Amazing feature list.
Nope!

If there are indeed more bug fixes and it's more stable, I'd take that over any new feature (as we ALWAYS have complained about here - fix things, don't add things). That said, the I/O dialog and feature improvements around it and then Metadata Inspector sound very useful and worth updating for. I'm going to take the plunge and will certainly report back.

Yes, I too prefer the soft roll out of the new features rather than Avid taking a deep dive with them.

If you want to rant, go for it. This may seem like a dot-rev to you guys, but to me, it feels like a win, especially if it's really behaving well. I can't think of a feature I'd rather have than stability. I don't NEED the cloud as much as I WANT it. Stability over everything.

I'll take bug fix over new release any day... Right now the V12 is a bug fix and I'm find with that. I'm even ok with 199$ a year for support plan, I do with Waves too. But for 599$ the HD guys they better get new hardware every 3 years. That's just silly..

Well, I'm an HD guy and while $599 is indeed a lot of money, it's the main tool I use to make my living. $599 at the end of the day is a drop in the bucket compared to plug in purchases I'm often forced to make to stay current and be able to open things that artists send, esp with VI purchases. Seriously, the app is nothing compared to that. Not sure what I spent last year in total on plug ins, but I would imagine it's probably 3x or 4x that amount. That's where I always take a beating.

Hardware...the move from my 96i/o to my Omni was beyond well worth it. The sonics are MILES better. It's not even close, so in the end, I didn't mind one bit. If you're a guy that writes off expenses, these things are bound to happen in any profession. I'm just glad I'm not video shooter. I swear, they have it the worst.
