Help! The attacks of the midi notes disappear when I quantize
Hey guyz, i don't know if anyone else has had this problem.
Say I record a midi performance on and instrument track using a virtual instrument ( kontakt ). When i quantize the notes, the attacks are almost inaudible. When I undo the quantize i can hear the notes clearly again. Same applies with midi input quantize. Any thoughts? Thanks! |

Re: Help! The attacks of the midi notes disappear when I quantize
A lot of it depends on the patch, for example, typically with a classic Moog patch, when notes overlap the filter won't retrigger which could make it sound like you've lost note attacks. When you quantize, use the MIDI Operations Grid/Groove Quantize window and check to see that the "Preserve note duration" box is checked. That should help.
