Video Engine does not launch in Pro Tools 12

I am using Pro Tools 12 (version 2018 4.0.) on a Macbook Pro with High Sierra (10.3.5.) and without any other devices. Every time I open my actual video project, Pro Tools starts "restoring video files" and after a minute or so stops this process and gives me a timout message. Than it opens the project but without launching the Video Engine. The only solution I found out is to start the project over and over again. Than after 5 or 6 times finally the video engine gets started and works fine till I close the project. This happens every single time I reopen the project.

I tried all the solutions that I found in forums but none of them worked for me (deleting the AvidVideoEngine folder under "users" > "shared", reinstalling Pro Tools, trashing preferences, trying external and internal hard drives (without special caracters in their name), following the general troubleshooting suggested by Avid for Pro Tools).

If someone has some more suggestions how to solve this annoying problem I would be really happy.

What format are the video files? DNXHD is preferred.

Yes the Video is in DNXHD Format.

Have you tried a different video file to see if it is just this one that is causing problems? I have no problems with DNxHD 36 video in PT 2018.4 under Windows 7.

I'm assuming you meant 10.13.5

Not an approved macOS. Avid has warned there are issues going above 10.13.3.

Also, what is you RAM and which model of Macbook Pro? Is it the latest 14,2 model?

Thank you for your suggestions! I already tried different video files, this did'nt help. But I guess I was to fast updating my OSX (indeed I meant 10.13.5) and may have to wait for a new update of pro tools allowing the compatibility with 10.13.5
