Dell XPS15 9560 + Focusrite Clarett 8PreX Thunderbolt
Hi all, I have recently decided to start doing some home recording again but seem to be having some issues.
I have a Focusrite Clarett 8PreX thunderbolt interface connected to my Dell XPS 15 9560 which has an i7 7700HQ, 32GB RAM and a 2TB PCIE-SSD. Its connected with an apple thunderbolt 3 > 2 adapter as suggested by Focusrite and I am using their beta 2.1.9 focusrite control driver. However I am experiencing clicks and pops / occasional cut outs when I have the ASIO buffer below 256 samples at 44.1 and anything below 1024 when at 96. I have done all the usual configuration such as turning off all power saving, disabling AV software and anything thats not needed, even C States in BIOS. Only thing I havn't done is disable the wireless card in device manager. What gives here? This is one of the most powerful laptops there is yet I have to crank my buffer to the point where latency is noticable! Anyone got any advice? Thanks Tom |
