joystick to control panner?
hi,
i did a search on this but didn't find too much info. What does it take for a joystick to access the surround panner control? is it just like a mouse? in other words, if i stick a usb game controller into the works (assuming proper drivers, etc...) can that be used to spin stuff around the room the directors seem to love? i know about the gallery and jlcooper stuff. will a cheaper controller work well? Thanks. |

Re: joystick to control panner?
I would guess not. We just got the Galley panner (which works great BTW) and from what I've managed to glean from the manual etc, PT relies on inter-application commands (via the personality modules in PT and the Gallery s/w) to control the panner. Unless your joystick manufacturer has written them specifically for PT, it seems doubtful that the two programs would be able to "talk".
Of course I could be wrong...
