Default Batch renaming SFX files using Finder question

I have libraries I have been collecting for many years now. I have already gone through and batch converted the old .sd2 files to .wav.

But some of my older libraries have illegal characters in the file names (most commonly, "/").

I didn't have any problems importing them until I upgraded to PT 12, but now when I drag from the workspace, I get an offline clip and have to go rename the file and remove the illegal character and then reimport.

I finally had enough and wen to do a batch rename in finder (OS 10.12.2). I searched the SFX drive for filenames with "/"' in them, and asked it to replace all instances with a space.

Apparently, many of the files have the ".wav" in the actual file name, and Finder is asking if I want to Add the extension or not. The issue is that I am getting asked this for each individual file over and over again. It's a lot of files...

In PT, there's the option with tese pop ups to hold option and click on an answer, and it will automatically apply that to each time it has that question in the process. Does anyone know of a way to do this in Finder?

It won't even let me cancel it. I can only Choose "Add" or "Don't Add" and every time I click I just get the same question again. If anyone knows how to just tell it to do what i select for every file in the process that would be super cool.

Been using R-Name for years.

It's no longer supported, but still available.

ForkLift 3 can also do it and I think there´s a free trial.

+1 for R-Name. It's simple, quick, and free. But, it will stop working once Mojave takes over as all 32-bit apps will loose support. A Better Finder Renamer is a good paid option.

EDIT: Ah, according to the link it IS 64-bit. Hopefully it will continue to work for a long time.

I use 'A Better Finder Rename' - works really well .. although I haven't tried the others.
