Default eMac and LE

We are thinking of fitting an LE-system to an existing eMac to support our TDM-system, which is currently overloaded with work. Has anyone tested Mbox or digi002 together with an eMac?

eMac G4 here as well; I run both the MBox on LE6.0/OSX, and the Digi-002 on 5.2/OS9.2.

Both work like a champ.

Cheers.

What's the difference between the eMac and the latest iMacs? Both have 2 FW ports and 5 USB ports. Both have G4s, although the latest iMacs are a bit faster. I don't get the price difference, other than design.

I've got an eMac with a 700 Mhz G4 and an M-box. 640 MB of RAM. Works great. You just have to know how to utilize your CPU power with plug-ins and such. I'm actually thinking of upgrading to a faster processor.

I've also considered getting a powerhouse PC for a couple of reasons. I don't plan on upgrading to 6.0 because I will have to lose most of my plug ins. For some reason, with a PC running XP, you get 32 tracks with PT 5.3.3 and the option for a lower harware buffer size of 128 samples. As opposed to a Mac running PT 5.2.1 you only get 24 tracks and a higher minimum hardware buffer size of 256 samples. You could save yourself a bunch of money getting a PC vs. a Mac. I know guys, I can't believe I'm saying this either, but it seems to make sense to me. Why pay more for less? Anyone have any thoughts on this, and I'm sure you do, let me hear them.
