fades ignored within region groups

It seems very unlikely that this hasn't been posted before, but my search didn't come up with anything. I'm grouping regions with fades together, but once grouped the fades seem to be ignored. When I ungroup the regions the fades are still in tact and play normally. Is this just the behavior of grouped regions or a bug?

you cannot have fades on EA tracks in region groups.Not a bug a limitation

Whoops, posted at work under my work username, sorry for any confusion, that being said, the track in question is not designated an elastic audio track. It is a normal sample based track. Also this same issue was occurring in 7.3
