Stacking
Hello everyone!
I am wondering how people go about stacking vocals or harmonies before the mixing process. Lets say you have 4 tracks that are stacked that are panned different directions and have effects on them or harmonies that have 2 parts. Do you then print all those tracks to one stereo track and mix from there?

Unless you are maxed out (!) on track count, I'd leave them separated. This gives you full control during the mix. You can bus them to a stereo aux, for shared plugs & group-levels, if desired.

That will enable you to filter out the frequencies on each track to that build up in the low to low-mids when stacking and each harmony can have it's own register. VVVV

Re: Stacking
Same here. Keep them separate, though I might route them all to a stereo aux(or folder track) if I want the same processing on all. As for BGV's, I usually EQ a dip around 350Hz so they don't get too "full" sounding and interfere with the lead vocal.
