I have the paid version, but shouldn’t make any difference.

The free version is not AAX

I just checked as that didn't seem right.

So, there's actually no free version of Limiter 6. It seems they only made a GE version of this plugin which means you have to pay for it unless you're running the demo. Don't know if this is a change as I could have sworn it had a basic free edition like their other plugins, but I did buy this a while ago so my memory is probably a bit hazy.

If you are running the demo, it most definitely is in AAX. I just downloaded the installer to double check. All formats are there.

As to why it's not working for you, I'm not sure. Is it in your plugins folder? If it is, it should appear in the Dynamics section in the drop down list. Mono or stereo - it works as both.

They are published by the same people under different brands. The TDR is paid and has AAX, the old #6 is still free and VST only, it's available at Plugin Boutique

I see.

Don’t think the old version has the same metering as the new version. Not sure if there’s any other features in the new one.

But yes, that would explain it not working. :)

But a real Maxim friend is hard to find..., isn’t it?

I still have my Mix system from 1998 (somewhere in a corner of the studio)but used an external Finalizer in this era... It’s so long ago...

Maybe because Finalizer is realtime and Maxim has 1024 sample lookahead buffer (plus 4 samples of TDM processing)

Yes.

However they don't sound exactly the same.

Both sound great but personally I prefer the original Limiter No.6.
It's zero latency and sounds a tiny bit (splitting hairs) more neutral to my ears.
