Delay plugin(?) playing when opening template

I have a template for a project I'm working on with lots of delay plugins throughout. Every time I start a new session with this template there's a sound like the tail of a delay that starts really loud then trails off. When I saved the template there was nothing playing, and there's no material at bar 5 (where I start the actual track and where the cursor is placed in the saved template).

Before I go through every delay plugin in the template and do a process of elimination, is there some setting or other parameter that could be causing this "phantom" delay tail to play every time I open a new session with this template? Has anyone else experienced this?

Do you have Altiverb? I have been caught by a very similar experience by Altiverb's setting that plays a sound each time a new preset is loaded.

Hmmm, never had that happen here. 2 options come to mind:
#1-get the free Sound Radix plugin, Mute-o-Matic and insert after each delay plugin and set to mute on stop(this plugin can be configured to mute at stop, or mute at playback. Mute at playback is handy for automating talkback mics). Build that into your templates
#2-Pull the delay track faders down all the way and save your templates that way(or save with those tracks muted)

I don't have Altiverb, though I do have quite a few reverbs (Lexicon and East West Spaces) set up in my template.

Never heard of Mute-o-Matic, I'll definitely give it a try, thanks!
