I got used to PT8, and must say that I consider this upgrade worthwhile the cash...easier to work with, and more stable. The plugins are generally more usable. D-Verb also improved, however, I get some distortion (Hawaii guitar-like vibrato) with acoustic instruments in highest range with sustained notes. Any idea how to avoid it? Which freebie RTAS stuff could do the job?
Thx, Bob |

Check this thread
http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread.php?t=241128 and see if it corresponds to your findings. Maybe just experiment with the different algorithms and see if you find some that behave better. Personally, I rarely use Dverb unless I need a "trashy' sound. There are lots of decent verb plugins available if you don't mind dropping a couple hundred bucks. TL Space is a nice convolution verb. BreverB is nice(but a little funky to navigate). IK Classik verbs sound good and are very easy to edit and I recently bought that package off the bay for under $200.

Really? I was curious about those IK reverbs. How do they compare to the others Albee? Ever since I lost access to all the waves stuff I miss my old standby "Studio A" reverb.
