Pro Tools 10 Free Trial Update

I'm having problems launching the software....

I've downloaded and ran both of the installers, and have also downloaded the iLok auth, which shows up on my iLok, but when I try to open PT, I get this message:

Error, missing iLok authorization for Pro Tools 10" Please insert the necessary iLok and restart ProTools.


Any suggestions?

Try uninstalling ILOK Drivers and reinstall them.

Make sure it is the latest ILOK you reinstall.

Are you sure you have both the regular and the HD authorizations present on your ilok. Not just the HD.

Hmmmmm what exactly do you mean by "regular"? I have one PT9HD auth, plus some plugs..

Now I have PT10HD auth, but it won't launch.

what other auth do I need/supposed to have?

You need to have PT10 AND PT10HD licenses on your iLok

By regular, I mean the non-HD authorization. You will need them both for HD.

ok so far so good.

i didnt install HD10 yet. i would like to know first...if i dislike PT10...or just dont want to upgrade that moment...is HD9 still fully functional on my DAW or do i have to reinstall from 9.0.0 > 9.0.6...

does PT10 make his own file structure/folders etc. or does it overwrite PT9 files and folders ?

Reinstall
The 9 folder (on my system) was moved into the Avid folder intact with templates and I/O's.
However the PT9hd app will not function.

Uninstall 10 and reinstall 9, then check-move any files as needed.(I/O and Templates in particular)

If I don't like 10 I will just install a backup version of my Windows 7 system that I made prior to installing 10, and everything is as it was again...

But I have a question about the trail, if I like it and want to buy, will I just get a new iLok license so I can just continue working?
