Default Bomb Factory Meequalizer or Pultec???

Which one do you think is best for EQing acoustic guitar, Meeequalizer or Pultec EQP-1A? I'm recording in stereo using a pair of Neumann KM-184s. I use an A/B pattern, mics about, oh, 10 inches apart, left channel at about the 14th fret, right channel at the sweet spot just behind the bridge, and both on-axis and about 4 - 6 inches close to the guitar. Thanks for your help.

If you haven't bought either of them, then save up for the Sony EQ ---> http://www.sonyplugins.com/. Pultec is much better at bass sounds, I haven't tried the Meeq, so can't help you there.

Cheers

Tried the Oxford Demo. It's better than both the Meeq and the Pultec. Very fine control. Very natural sounding. But $850 vs. $225 for the (48K Value) Meeq or Pultec. Hmmmm...let's see, is it worth it? I'll have to think about that.

O.K., I thought about it. It is. Thanks Rubo. You actually saved me money because I would have probably bought one of the Bomb Factory plugs (not that they aren't great, they are) and then bought the Sony Oxford EQ.

Or if you can wait for a while, and see if Universal Audio will port their UAD-1 to RTAS. Also I think George Massenberg released his RTAS/HTDM EQ as well, but the price tag will be in the $700 as well.

Here save some money his are 3.0 versions so good for OSX and OS9, you'll only have to buy a $40 iLook dongle.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">You're comparing apples to oranges...They are completely different beasts....I wouldn't use the Meek nor the Pultec as a 'general' EQ, but they both are incredible when used (or abused ) right...
i'm totally sold on the McDSP Filterbank as my main EQ.....

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Unfortunately, despite numerous requests, as of now the MDW EQ is not available as an RTAS plug-in. HD only.

However, there is the GML model/option available in the Sony Oxford EQ plugin. George recommends it highly. I do too. Spendy though.
