Default DIG001 + Core2 = no go?

The time has come for me to upgrade from my trusty AthlonXP 2200+ to something like an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300. Can someone confirm that this will turn my otherwise fine and useful 001 into a doorstop? No workarounds or anything?

The problem is that the final version of PT that will work with the 001, 6.4, cannot utilize dual cores or multi processors.

It's certainly possible to use a dual core system with the 001, but you'll only be able to use one core/processor with Pro Tools.

Ohhhh, OK. That doesn't sound too bad, I guess. It's still probably faster than the XP 2200+. I'm guessing rewire type stuff like Reason and BFD will be able to use both cores, yes? Edit: Or do you have to turn one core off completely, or something? I don't know how these things work...

I suppose all the griping about patches and conspiracy has already been done long ago, so I won't even mention it. Ah, the loneliness of the legacy product user...
