Default Aardsync + 888/24 or sumthin else ($$ is a factor)

I'm currently running mix-plus w/ 1 888/24.

I'm gonna need 8 more i/o in the next year or so, so would it be wise to buy just a nicer a/d and clock off of that?

anything for less $$ compare with the aardsync?
