Default Any tips or tricks: Removing a pop or click from vocal track

Hello,

I have a vocal track that contains a single click/pop or something of the sort that for the life of me I can not isolate in order to attempt a fix. It's contained in a two or three second single note 'Ahhh'. Same place and sound everytime. I believe it's a result of a bad edit, but my usual tact of just searching for a malformed sine wave is failing me. Anyone care to share any tips or tricks that may help me rid this note of the click short of re-tracking?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers, Greg

Sonic NoNoise. Just select the area, hit process. It recomputes the selected area based on the surrounding material. Expensive but miraculous.

Another way that will usually work is to just copy and paste from right in front of the click over the click area. Use zero crossings and paste in the same part of the waveform that you're replacing. Make very short crossfades to eliminate clicks on the region boundaries. If it's thru a sustained area of "ahhh" it should work.

I hope that's clear enough to understand.

1) pencil tool. isolate click with scrubber and zoom tools. draw through with pencil tool.

2) highlight small region just prior to click. duplicate. cross fade to taste.

Sounds like the pencil isn't cutting it for the OP.

A spectral-eq like iZotope RX can often get at those weird bumps that aren't exactly ticks or pops

I've often had problems with the pencil. I see the click when zoomed out a bit, but it disappears when zooming to sample level for redrawing. Exporting the audio region and importing it into another DAW, I can see the click all the way to sample level and redraw without a problem. Anyone else ever had this happen?
