digital ins SPDIF and ADAT simultaneous

If I were attempting to record with the ADAT and SPDIF ins at the same time, and the devices could not use clock to sync externally, how would I set the 002r to receive clock - SPDIF or ADAT? Would this even work? Last but not least, recording 8 ch on ADAT, set clock to ADAT - will I be able to use all 8 analog ins without artifacts? Has anyone done used all 18 ins successfully?

My PC does 32 + 8 on the DaveC test and 23 dverbs, so I don't think processing power will be an issue if I ever have to attempt this.

I answered this in your other thread. Both devices must share a common Word Clock.. and Pro Tools must be externally clocked to the master clocking device.

RJR is correct.... i use both spdif and adat on my 001 everyday...DA7 into adat, focusrite VMP into spdif, both are clocked to a Lucid Genx6 with NO problems. I can record to all 18 inputs on the 001 all at once. I have the 001 clocked to the spdif inputbecause my spdif cable is short.
